Earthquake hits eastern Romania after already 70 felt ones in 2015

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck Romania's seismic zone of Vrancea on Monday evening, according to the National Institute for Earth Physics.
The earthquake, one of the strongest this year, had its focus at 115 kilometers depth with its epicenter located in Buzau County, some 140 kilometers northeast of the capital city of Bucharest.
Frequent earthquakes have occurred in Romania recently, another 70 felt earthquakes have occurred since the beginning of the year, with seven of them over 4 degrees on the Richter scale. Most of the quakes occurred in Vrancea seismic zone.
A 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck the same county on Nov. 22, 2014, which was the strongest earthquake in the latest 10 years after a 6-magnitude earthquake on Oct. 27, 2004.
Frequent earthquakes have aroused worry among residents and also become one of the hot topics in the local media.
