6.5-magnitude quake hits Tonga islands

An earthquake measuring 6.5 magnitude on the Richter scale jolted Tonga Islands Region last night, according to the information from Hong Kong Observatory. The epicenter, with a depth of 19.6 km, was initially determined to be at 20.522 degrees south latitude and 173.224 degrees east longitude, according to the US Geological Survey, which measured the quake as 6.0 magnitude.
