3.2 quake strikes near Eureka

A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Northern California early Friday, officials said. The quake struck at 4:57 a.m. at a depth of 15.5 miles, the Los Angeles Times reported. It was centered 9 miles from Hydesville, 10 miles from Petrolia, 24 miles from Eureka and 194 miles from Sacramento, the U.S. Geological Survey said. No damage was reported. Two 3.0-magnitude earthquakes hit the area in the past 10 days, the newspaper said.
