Bus crash on eastern desert road
Minya - MENA

At least six people have been killed and 37 others wounded in a bus crash on the eastern desert road in the direction of the Upper Egyptian city of Minya.

Coming from Cairo, a public transport bus overturned after hitting a camel on the eastern desert road, south of Beni Sweif, earlier Wednesday.

Thirty-three ambulances rushed to the scene to move the victims to the Beni Sweif General Hospital, Beni Sweif University Hospital and Beni Mazar Central Hospital.

The bus carried 52 passengers.

A camel crossing the road suddenly appeared in front of the bus, causing the driver to lose control over the steering wheel.
