Zamalek reject Shehata resignation

The Zamalek board, under chairman Mamdouh Abbas, has rejected the resignation of manager Hassan Shehata. Sources have informed Ahram Online that Abbas ordered the board not to discuss the matter until he returns from a business trip abroad. Shehata verbally quit his post Saturday night because management refused to release certain players or make new signings. Shehata is the country’s most successful coach, leading the national team to three successive African Cup of Nations trophies 2006, 2008 and 2010.
