Sanfrecce Hiroshima's J.League lead was reduced to one point as they crashed to a shock 1-0 home defeat by mid-table FC Tokyo. Brazilian striker Lucas scored the only goal in the 49th minute to give Tokyo their first win in six games. Sanfrecce are on 43 points, ahead of Vegalta Sendai on 42 points, Urawa Red Diamonds on 41 points and Jubilo Iwata on 37 points. Vegalta came back from a goal down to beat Omiya Ardija 3-1, with Brazilian Wilson hitting the equaliser, defender Jiro Kamata getting the second and Toshihiro Matsushita completing the scoring. Urawa defeated Shimizu S-Pulse 2-0 with early goals by Tsukasa Umesaki and Yuki Abe, while Jubilo beat the defending champions Kashiwa Reysol 3-0. Gamba Osaka smashed bottom-placed Consadole Sapporo 7-2, with Brazilian Leandro netting a hat-trick. In other games, Mu Kanazaki scored the only goal to give Nagoya Grampus a 1-0 win over Kawasaki Frontale, while Cerezo Osaka defeated Yokohama F Marinos 2-0.
