Sir Alex Ferguson and his Manchester United players were in all attendance at the club's annual Player of the Year Awards at Old Trafford. Despite the disappointment of losing out so dramatically in the title race only 24 hours before, the boss and squad were in good spirits at the ceremony which was also attended by famous United fans including glamorous TV stars Rachel Riley (Countdown) and Kym Marsh (Coronation Street). Antonio Valencia was the big winner on the night scooping all three of the main awards - Fans' and Players' Player of the Year and Goal of the Season for his strike in the win at Blackburn last month. Other winners on the night were Michael Keane, who collected the Reserve Player of the Year prize after an impressive season at the heart of United’s title-winning defence, and Mats Daehli who won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award at the end of an impressive maiden season for the Reds. Congratulations to them all.
