London - AFP
John Terry captained Chelsea in Tuesday's League Cup third round clash against Wolves just hours after appearing at the second day of his racism hearing. Terry, 31, is fighting to clear his name following the Football Association's charges that he racially abused QPR defender Anton Ferdinand during a Premier League clash at Loftus Road in October last year. The former England skipper, who has already been found not guilty in a court case related to the same incident, shocked English football on Sunday when he retired from international duty in protest at the FA's decision to push ahead with their charges. Terry left Wembley, where the FA's independent disciplinary panel are conducting the hearing, around 1200GMT and then dashed across London to link up with his team-mates ahead of Wolves' visit to Stamford Bridge. The disciplinary hearing will go into a third day on Wednesday when Terry is expected to hear evidence in his favour.
