Szalai signs new Mainz contract

Mainz forward Adam Szalai has signed a contract extension to remain with the Bundesliga club until 2015. The 24-year-old joined Mainz in 2010 and has scored eight goals in 50 appearances, with a serious knee injury having ruled him out for a year. He is now hoping to put that spell on the sidelines behind him and concentrate on being successful over the next three seasons. "Mainz are a particularly special club for me," he said. "The club, the coach, the team and the fans always stood by me during my long injury absence and I feel very happy in Mainz. I have the feeling that I have not yet delivered my best for Mainz."
