France's Adrien Theaux competes the downhill race
Wengen - Arab Today

World Cup organisers announced on Saturday that the men's downhill at Wengen would start from a lower level due to heavy snow and fog higher up the piste.

Instead, the start of the race on the famous Lauberhorn course, the longest used in the World Cup, would start from the same gate which was used Friday for the super-combined.

That was won by Norway's Kjetil Jansrud ahead of countryman Aksel Lund Svindal and Frenchman Adrien Théaux.

The previous World Cup downhill dates back to December 29 at Santa Caterina and was won by Théaux ahead of Austrian Hannes Reichelt and another Frenchman,David Poisson.
