Sao Paulo remain fifth in the Brasileiro table after thrashing visitors Botafogo 4-0. Luis Fabiano gave the home side the lead after just six minutes, but it was not until the second half that goals from Filho Osvaldo (59), Rodrigues Lucas (61) and Santos Cicero (89) sealed the win. In the evening's other fixture, Flamengo and Sport Recife drew 1-1 after Felipe Azevedo (20) cancelled out Barreto Ibson's 13th-minute opener for Flamengo.
