London - Arabstoday
Former Real Madrid and Spain striker Raul bagged a brace for Al Sadd, who continued their promising start to their Qatari League season with a 5-2 thumping of Qatar SC on Sunday. Mamadou Niang scored twice in the first 10 minutes - the second from the penalty spot - in-between Bakari Kone's sixth-minute leveller for Qatar before Raul opened his account in the 13th minute. Youssef Safri brought the hosts to within a goal two minutes after the interval but Nadir Belhadj extended the cushion in the 53rd minute before Raul gave Al Sadd their second victory in as many matches. Julio Cesar's 63rd-minute goal rescued a 1-1 draw for Al Khor at Al Arabi, who had taken the lead after 14 minutes through Matthew Spiranovic, while Al Khrityat's home clash with Al Gharafa finished goalless.
