On 7 January 2013 footballs brightest stars, dignitaries, celebrities and VIP guests will come together to celebrate the world’s best players and coaches for the past year at the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2012 Gala. Joining in the festivities at the Zurich Kongresshaus will be defending FIWC champion Alfonso Ramos. The Spaniard’s win in Dubai at the FIWC12 Grand Final earned him USD20,000 in prize money and a VIP trip for two to the gala in Zurich, Switzerland. Earlier this year FIWC11 winner Francisco Cruz enjoyed the special privilege awarded to the FIWC champion. In Zurich for the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2011, Cruz mingled with football stars, played a casual game of EA SPORTS™ FIFA 12 with Wayne Rooney, discussed managerial tactics with Sir Alex Ferguson and shook hands with 2011 Player of the Year Lionel Messi. “It’s an opportunity that one does not receive on a day to day basis,” Cruz said. “It is still unbelievable. I mean, who would have thought that playing EA SPORTS™ FIFA would one day take me to the FIFA Ballon d’Or!“ Ramos, no stranger to the FIFA Ballon d’Or Alfonso Ramos is no stranger to the star-studded event, having already attended the Gala as the 2008 FIWC champion where he was handed his award by Fernando Torres. At the 2012 FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala Ramos will be rubbing shoulders with Player of the Year nominees such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi, Alex Morgan, Marta and Abby Wambach not to mention all the nominees for the FIFA Puskás award, FIFA/FIFPro World XI and Coach of the Year. FIFA.com will be bringing you all of the highlights of Ramos’s trip to the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2012. Follow @FIWC on Twitter to get all the latest FIFA Interactive World Cup news and highlights.
