Park, Kim, Meadow among LPGA award winners

South Koreans Park In-Bee and Kim Sei-Young and Northern Ireland's Stephanie Meadow were among the players to receive awards at the LPGA's end of season celebration.

Park, the world number two chasing New Zealand teen Lydia Ko this week for the year-end top ranking, received the Annika Major Award for her performance in majors, winning the Women's British Open and her third consecutive Women's PGA Championship.

Kim received the LPGA Rookie of the Year trophy, an award she clinched with two events remaining in the season.

Meadow, 23, received the LPGA Perseverance Award in a vote of tour players. She learned the night before departing for the first event of the season that her father, Robert, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer during a routine check-up.

Meadow, third at last year's US Women's Open in her pro debut, took three months off at the start of her rookie season to help care for her father, who died in May. She went on to complete her first LPGA campaign in his honor.

American Juli Inkster, a seven-time major champion with 31 LPGA career titles, won the Powell Award voted upon by her peers. Inkster, 55, was declared the player who by behavoir and deeds best showed the LPGA's spirit, ideals and values.
