President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and Chairman of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah arrived here on Wednesday to take part in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the 62nd annual congress of the international federation of football associations (FIFA). He was welcomed by Kuwait Ambassador to Hungary Abdulhamid Al-Failakawi and the diplomatic staff of the embassy. The AFC meeting has already started today while the FIFA Congress is to open at the Budapest conventions center on Thursday. Upon his arrival, Sheikh Ahmad joined the AFC meeting, opened by FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter. Chairman of Kuwait Football Association Sheikh Talal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Ambassador Al-Failakawi represented their country at the gathering. Sheikh Ahmad and Sheikh Talal are to represent Kuwait at the FIFA Congress tomorrow. The two-day event will start with a traditional parade of the flags representing the organization's 208 member associations as the FIFA anthem will be played by local virtuoso Felix Lajko and his band. The Congress will debate issues such as FIFA reforms and the anti-doping efforts as well as other medical issues relating to football; it will draw to a close with a press conference on Friday when Blatter will answer questions of journalists.
