London - Arabstoday
Everton boss David Moyes says he is not interested in moving into international management and is fully focused on guiding the Toffees up the Premier League table. With Fabio Capello set to step down as England manager after Euro 2012, the Scottish coach has been touted as a potential successor to the Italian, but Moyes is confident the FA will not come calling. The 48-year-old - who will celebrate a decade at Goodison Park in March - believes there are plenty of English managers above him in the pecking order."I don't know if England could ever accept a Scotsman running their team," says Moyes. "And at the moment, I'm probably more interested in club management than international management."Harry Redknapp looks a great choice as England manager. A great man-manager, he plays entertaining football and, I get the feeling from a distance, that the players like his style."So I would say Harry, Roy Hodgson and big Sam Allardyce will be in there."But Moyes, who has played a role in the careers of many of England's players - Wayne Rooney, Joleon Lescott , Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines and Jack Rodwell - thinks the FA could take a different route."Maybe England will look for someone whose influence filters all the way through, someone who is out watching all the youth team games - the Under-21s and Under-18s - someone who has an impact on the whole of English football, rather than simply managing the senior team."Moyes, though, is just concentrating on improving on Everton's league current position of tenth ahead of their trip to face Arsenal on Saturday."I always use the word 'progress'. Most years I think there has been progress at Everton. So far this season is the one where we would struggle to say that."The players have responded in the past and I hope they can again. I need to find new ways for the team to play."
