Mineiro move 2 points clear

Atletico Mineiro moved two points clear of Vasco da Gama at the top of the Brazilian Campeonato standings after earning a point from a 0-0 draw away to third-placed Fluminense on Sunday. Cruzeiro lie fifth in the table after a 2-1 home win over Palmeiras in a game which saw both sides score penalties. Humberlito Borge scored both goals for Cruzeiro, the first a penalty, and Hernan Barcos replied from the spot for Palmeiras. Portuguesa won 3-1 against Nautico Recife despite going behind to Welker Almeida's goal after nine minutes. The home side replied through Magalhaes Moises (31), Monteiro Ananias (58) and Diego Viana Sehnem (87).
