Shanghai - BNA
Lotus was on a good pace at the 6 Hours of Shanghai. After being on Pole Position, James Rossiter in car #32 had a moderate start and did not push too much. The Briton did not use his tyres too hard as otherwise he would have had problems at the end of his first stint. It was a wise decision as the cars in front of him struggled with the tyres and so, Rossiter could catch up with the class leader. Unfortunately, car #32 had to retire because of some brake problems. Thomas Holzer and Mirco Schultis in car #31 finished the race on sixth position in LMP2 class. Both German drivers had a strong race pace and could manage the tyre degradation well. It was a very interesting first year in FIA World Endurance Championship and Lotus is looking forward to the new season with the new Lotus T128. Thomas Holzer, Race driver #31: “It was a good race for us and I am very happy about sixth position in LMP2 class. Mirco Schultis and I had good lap times and we had the speed to race with our competitors. We improved a lot during the season and could close the gap to the other cars. I would like to thank to the whole team. They did a fantastic job all over the year and I am looking forward to racing with them next year.” James Rossiter, Race driver #32: “It was a great feeling to start from Pole Position. We had a good pace and kept up with our competitors. Unfortunately, we had problems on the brakes and so we had to retire, which is a big shame. The team worked very hard and well the whole season and I would like to say thank you to everyone. I hope that we will have the chance to work together again next year.”
