Rennes striker Jires Kembo Ekoko is keen to sign a new contract with the Ligue 1 club. The former France U-21 international has spent his entire senior career with the Brittany club, having moved from his native Democratic Republic of Congo at a young age. His existing contract expires at the end of the coming season but he insists he has always wanted to stay put for the longer term. "I am very happy to start the season with Rennes," he told L'Equipe. "It's my club and the town where I grew up. I never closed the door on a new deal. My agents and the club are trying to reach an agreement." FIFA .
