Austria's Daniela Iraschko-Stolz won the overall women's World Cup ski jumping title despite finishing fifth in the final event of the season, topped Friday in Oslo by Japan's Sara Takanashi.
It was a first overall World Cup title for the Olympic silver medallist, who had been almost certain of winning before jumping in Norway as she held an 89-point advantage on her Japanese rival.
The 31-year-old finished just 34 points ahead of Takanashi to add the crystal globe to a trophy cabinet which already holds a gold medal from the 2011 Nordic World Ski Championships and eight World Cup wins.
Takanashi, still just 18, won the Olso event with a total of 263.8 points ahead of America's Sarah Hendrickson (257.1) and Canada's Taylor Henrich (250.4).
Iraschko-Stolz achieved 237.0 points.
Despite her sixth victory of the season, Takanashi failed to lift the overall title for the third straight year but finishes second ahead of Olympic and world champion Carina Vogt of Germany.
