The headquarters of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan were the fitting setting yesterday when representatives of Hyundai Motor Company officially handed over 65 vehicles which will be used for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Azerbaijan 2012. This handover ceremony represented a special milestone in the preparations for this historic tournament which kicks off today. Representatives of FIFA, the LOC and the local distributor for Hyundai Motor Company looked on as the vehicles which will used to fulfill part of the tournament’s ground transportation needs were displayed. Javid Garayev, the LOC Marketing Director, thanked Hyundai Motor Company for their logistical support which will ensure that groups such as the FIFA delegation and team officials will travel in comfort and style. “The provision of this fleet of Hyundai vehicles will assist the LOC in its quest to make the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Azerbaijan 2012 a truly inspirational tournament. We are all gearing up to deliver a sporting extravaganza that will allow all the 16 teams and their starlets to showcase their talent”. According to Ziya Babayev, the Finance Director of Hyundai Motor Company’s local distributor, the 65 Hyundai vehicles which have been provided for the tournament will greatly enhance the LOC’s operations. “We have handed over some of Hyundai’s most-celebrated models. Through the use of vehicles such as the Equus and Genesis luxury models and the versatile Hyundai Santa Fe, we are confident that the LOC will deliver a smooth transport operation which fits an event of such importance.” Hyundai Motor Company has proven itself to be a loyal FIFA Partner, providing vehicles for FIFA events since the 2002 FIFA World Cup™.
