Organisers of the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games turned down a request for gender-testing of an Indonesian women's volleyball player on Wednesday.
The appeal from the Philippines against Aprilia Manganang, 23, was rejected by organising committee SINGSOC after a review of documents by medical experts.
"SINGSOC has been informed by the South East Asian Games Federation medical committee that they have reviewed the documents submitted by the Indonesian volleyball team and that the appeal has since been rejected," a statement said.
The Philippines delegation earlier confirmed to AFP that it questioned Manganang's eligibility based on her gender, and had demanded tests to clarify her sex.
Manganang faced boos from the crowd on Wednesday as Indonesia beat the Philippines 25-22, 25-20, 25-14 in their Pool B opener in Singapore.
