FIFA president blatter to visit Cuba

Joseph Blatter, the president of the International Football Federation(FIFA), is expected to arrive in Havana next Tuesday for a two-day work visit, including talks with local sports authorities, the official media said on Friday.According to the official site of the Cuban National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), Blatter's main agenda in Havana includes meetings with officials of the Cuban Olympic Committee (COC), INDER, and the local soccer federation.On Wednesday he is also scheduled to visit La Polar stadium, which will be installed with the first artificial pitch for the discipline on the island, and will meet with veteran athletes.After that, the FIFA leader will tour the National School Mario Lopez, created by the GOL project sponsored by FIFA, and offer at noon a press conference at the Havana's National Hotel.Then he will leave for Panama to participate at the Congress of Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF).This is the second trip of Blatter to Cuba, where he traveled in 2000.He was expected to visit the island on October 25, 2012, but he decided to cancel his trip due to urgent issues of the discipline to be discussed on the World Cup Brazil 2014. source : XINHUA
