El Salvador began their international friendly double-header with a 1-0 victory over Guatemala in California. Nelson Bonilla scored the only goal of the game in the 28th minute to give the Central Americans a boost ahead of the next round of 2014 FIFA World Cup™ qualifiers. The match at the Home Depot Center was the first of two friendly encounters for both teams, with El Salvador facing Jamaica and Guatemala taking on Paraguay on Wednesday. The CONCACAF pair have made an identical start to Round 3 of North, Central America and Caribbean qualifying for Brazil 2014, with one draw and one defeat each. When the preliminaries resume on 7 September, El Salvador host Guyana in Group B while Guatemala welcome Antigua and Barbuda in Group A. From : Fifa
