Washington - Arabstoday
Wolves interim boss Terry Connor is hopeful goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey and midfielder Jamie O'Hara will be fit for the start of the new season. Wales number one Hennessey is currently recovering from a torn cruciate ligament suffered against Sunderland in mid April after undergoing surgery. O'Hara has been troubled in recent months by hernia and groin problems and had further surgery early last month to try and finally solve the setback. "The medical people tell us Wayne and Jamie are progressing along the lines they should be," Connor said. "Hopefully by the start of the new season, all the players will have returned to fitness. "When we chat to the players, they are all happy with the progress they are making and that they are all on schedule to return on their respective dates." Meanwhile, owner Steve Morgan has targeted an instant return to the Premier League and pledged that significant funds will be made available for buying players despite suffering relegation. Morgan insists Wolves are in a sound position financially after their three-year tenure in the top flight came to an end when speaking at the club's end of season dinner. He anticipates some players will leave Molineux but is adamant replacements will be brought in. Morgan said: "The one thing about Wolves is that we're in great financial health and we will have a very good treasure chest when it comes to the playing side. There will be changes - some players will come, some players will go but that will be with one thing in mind and that's to get back up. "We are more committed than ever. I am a very poor loser and we have lost this year. We've had a bad time and we have to sort it out. We have to put a poor season behind us, get back to winning ways and get back to the Premier League." In terms of Wolves' relegation, Morgan said: "It's hard to explain. We've had horrific injuries, horrific decisions and we haven't quite been good enough this year. But we will get back. We've had a blow and in life that's what happens sometimes. The one thing we're determined to do is to get back up off the floor, pick ourselves up and get back to the Premier League."
