The battle of the debutants between Uruguay and China saw the Asian side run out comfortable 4-0 winners at the Dalga Arena, with Zheng Chen bagging two of them. Lu Yueyun was the focal point of a skilful and technically proficient midfield which allowed the Chinese to settle the quicker. It was no surprise when the rangy playmaker cut inside from the left to hit a curling shot that Gabriela Gonzalez just tipped onto the bar. On 22 minutes they went one better though, as the impressive Song Duan drove down the left flank, who squared for Tang Jiali whose shot squirmed under Gonzalez. Zheng Chen got the first of her brace 11 minutes later. Duan crossed from the left before Chen controlled and neatly clipped the ball beyond Gonzalez. Uruguay suffered another set-back four minutes before half-time when Chen doubled her personal tally. As the South Americans failed to deal with a corner, following Wang Xi’s flick Chen was on hand to power the ball beyond Alaides Bonilla on the line. Things only got worse after half-time for Uruguay, as Gabriela Gonzalez was sent off. Looking to prevent Jiali having a free run at goal she raced out to meet her, but handled outside her area and was promptly dismissed. With the lead and numerical advantage China coasted. However Yueyun got the icing on the cake, slotting home after Lei Jiahui’s beautifully lofted pass to cap a fine game for her. From : Fifa
