Jenson Button says he sees no benefit to taking part in the three day F1 test planned for Mugello next week, with McLaren set to run test drivers Gary Paffett and Oliver Turvey during the Italian session. Although Lewis Hamilton had suggested that he may ask the team to amend its schedule to give him track time after a poor result in Bahrain, the team seems set to stick to its original plan which will see Paffett and Turvey share seat time through the three days. Button never planned to take part in the test himself and he admitted that he didn't see the benefit to a race driver on running at Mugello given that the circuit hasn't been used for testing before and the fact that McLaren won't be taking a major upgrade to Italy. "The reason why we're not there is because we've never been to Mugello before,” he told the Press Association. "I don't really think we will be a benefit because there aren't any massive updates to try. "For the test drivers to put some miles on parts and try some very extreme things, then I think it's good, but it's not necessary for us to be there."
