Arun V produced a flawless display to be crowned men’s singles champion in the Qatar Open Badminton tournament. He beat Alex Rosca 21 – 10, 21 – 10 in the final. Arun also took the mixed doubles title partnering Suja Pramod for a 21 – 12, 21 - 18 victory over Jeboy Pechera and Kay Zoleta. In the women’s doubles final Rejinah Arokiasamy and Shehna Girish overcame Rejen Comia and Kay Zoleta 21 – 19, 21 – 7. After a very tight opening game that Arokiasamy/Girish just edged, the second game was a one-sided contest with victory wrapped up very quickly. In the Under-16 boys singles final Ahmed Yehya Abdul Khadar defeated his younger brother Mohamed Yehya Abdul Khadar 21 – 13, 21 – 17 to take the title.
