The mortal remains of the Cameroonian football player of the JS Kabylie Albert Ebossé, hit by a projectile thrown from the stands of 1st NovemberStadium in Tizi Ouzou (103 km east of Algiers) at the end of the game against USM Algiers, have been repatriated Thursday to Douala in Cameroon.
The tribute ceremony, held at the VIP lounge in Algiers International Airport, was attended by Minister of Sports Mohamed Tahmi, Cameroonian Ambassador to Algeria Claude Joseph Mbafou, Algerian Ambassador to Cameroon Milat Toufik and Civil Protection Chief Mustapha Lahbiri.
"Albert Ebossé was not only a player in our club but also the beloved son. He was a model player," the president of JS Kabilie, Mohand Cherif Hannachi told the press.
For his part, Ebosse's elder brother, Alex Bodjongo told APS "Albert was loved by everyone. He was very kind and very nice. We need lot of courage to overcome this terrible ordeal."
As regards the causes of the tragic death of Alber Ebosse, the brother of the JS Kabylie striker confirmed the preliminary results of the autopsy. "The real causes of the death of my brother have been cited in a communiqué of the Public Prosecutor's Department. I cannot say any more," he said.
