Triple Olympic ski jumping gold medallist Thomas Morgenstern of Austria admitted Friday that he missed a doping control. "I missed a test. Now I have a subscription with Nada (the Austrian anti-doping agency)," he told the Tiroler Tageszeitung (TT) newspaper. "They can test me every day, I've nothing to hide," insisted the 26-year-old. Morgenstern won both the Olympic individual large hill and the team gold at the 2006 Turin Games and the team large hill gold in Vancouver four years ago. He also won the Four Hills tournament in 2010-2011. Just months before the 2014 Sochi Winter Games from February 7-23, Morgenstern is the second top athlete to miss a test in Austria. Norwegian biathlete Ole Einar Bjoerndalen, a six-time Olympic champion, missed a Nada control earlier in October when he was supposed to be training in Austria. Bjoerndalen failed to inform Nada that he was extending his training session in Norway. Athletes face sanctions if they miss three out-of-competition tests. The ski jumping season gets underway on November 23 with a World Cup event in Klingenthal, Germany. Source: AFP
