NBA's Derrick Rose set for knee operation

Former NBA Most Valuable Player Derrick Rose will have surgery on Friday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, the Chicago Bulls said.
Rose will undergo a meniscectomy, which is removal of part or all of the meniscus, and Bulls general manager Gar Forman will discuss the 26-year-old's prognosis after the procedure.
If the tear is small, it's possible Rose could return within six weeks.
It's the second straight season that Rose has needed surgery for a similar injury in the same knee.
The right knee injuries come after he missed an entire season recovering from a torn left knee ligament.
In their first game since announcing Rose's injury, the Bulls fell to the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday.
"Our reality is that the games are going to keep coming," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said on Thursday.
"We've been through it before. Our team, the thing that I think makes them special is how they care about each other. So we'll have a spirit about us that we're going to have to fight through things."
