Delhi Commonwealth Games chief arrested

Indian police Monday arrested Suresh Kalmadi, the top organiser of the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games, following a probe into allegations of widespread corruption surrounding the event. Kalmadi will be "produced before a special judge" on Tuesday and formally charged on several counts relating to irregularities in the awarding of commercial contracts for the Games, said Dharini Mishra, spokeswoman for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
