Marco Verratti has extended his contract with Paris Saint-Germain for an additional year, tying him to the French champions until June 2018. PSG revealed the news in a statement after a summer in which the Italy midfielder reportedly demanded a significant salary increase at the Parc des Princes. Sports daily L'Equipe reported in July that the 20-year-old was seeking a rise in salary from €850,000 to €2m annually, before bonuses. Verratti moved to Paris from Pescara for €11m in the summer of last year and played 36 matches last season, including nine in the UEFA Champions League. Source: fifa.com
