Spaniard Joaquim Rodriguez claimed victory in the 94th Tour of Catalonia as Dutch rider Lieuwe Westra won the seventh and final stage on Sunday. Katusha's Rodriguez held off a late push by Alberto Contador (Tinkoff-Saxo) to finish four seconds ahead of his compatriot in the general classification with American Tejay Van Garderen (BMC) back in third. Westra (Astana) won the 120.7km stage around Barcelona by 1min 22sec from Marcus Burghardt (BMC) and Thomas Voeckler (Europcar) respectively. The race favourites arrived at the finish line together as Van Garderen and Rodriguez prevented Contador from making a decisive break towards the line. Tour de France winner Chris Froome finished back in sixth overall behind France's Romain Bardet and Colombian Nairo Quintana. Source: AFP
