Federer Returns to Tennis with Win at Hopman Cup

Roger Federer marked today his return to tennis with a 6-3, 6-4 over Dan Evans at the Hopman Cup.
The tennis legend played against a sellout crowd of 12,000. The win helped Switzerland lead the tie 1-0 with Belinda Bencic to play women's singles against Heather Watson.
Federer last competed in a Wimbledon semi-final in July. AP reported that he called off the remainder of 2016 to let a knee injury fully heal.
Federer last played the eight-nation team event in 2002 after winning it a year earlier with Martins Hingis.
