Former European Ryder Cup team captain and world number one Ian Woosnam will headline next week's Venetian Macau Open, organisers said Wednesday. Welshman Woosnam, who won the 1991 US Masters, will be playing at the $750,000 Asian Tour tournament for the first time. "My game is feeling good. I understand the Macau Golf and Country Club rewards precision play which is my strength and I hope to put up a good challenge against the stars from the Asian Tour," said Woosnam. Woosnam, 54, who competes on the European Senior Tour, led Europe to victory over the United States at the 2006 Ryder Cup in Ireland. The Macau Open, also featuring three-time Asian Tour order of merit winner Thongchai Jaidee, will be held from October 11-14.
