West Indies crushed New Zealand by 56 runs in the first Twenty20 international on Saturday with Kieron Pollard and Chris Gayle hitting impressive half-centuries. West Indies made 209 for two off their 20 overs with Gayle unbeaten on 85 and Pollard making 63 not out in a partnership of 108. New Zealand were then bowled out for 153 in the 19th over with opener Rob Nicol top-scoring with 32.
