Washington - Upi

Bo Van Pelt set a tournament record Sunday finishing the PGA Tour's CIMB Asia Pacific Classic Malaysia at 23-under-par 261 and winning by six strokes. Van Pelt had a bogey-free 7-under 64 in Sunday's final round in picking up his second career victory, although the Malaysian event isn't an official PGA tournament. His other win was the 2009 U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee. He opened the day with a one-stroke lead but pulled away through a solid final round that included five birdies in his last eight holes. Jeff Overton, who shot 2-under 69 Sunday, was second at 17-under 267 while Fredrick Jacobson (68 Sunday) finished third seven strokes behind Van Pelt. Cameron Tringale (64), Camilo Villegas (66) and Mark Wilson (69) tied for fourth at 15-under. Van Pelt had back-to-back birdies at Nos. 3 and 4 that pushed his lead to two strokes. He posted six consecutive pars before going on the binge that sealed the win. He birdied No. 11 and, after a par at 12, had three consecutive birdies. Van Pelt added his final birdie at 17and a par at 18 gave him the title and a string of 34 holes without a bogey.
