Port Elizabeth - Arabstoday

South Africa won the toss and decided to bat on the first day of the second and final Test against New Zealand at St George's Park on Friday. South Africa made one change from the team that won the first Test in Cape Town by an innings and 27 runs. Rory Kleinveldt replaced fellow pace bowler Vernon Philander, who is recovering from a hamstring strain. New Zealand showed two changes. Left-arm fast bowler Neil Wagner replaced veteran Chris Martin, while batsman Colin Munro came in for all-rounder James Franklin, who was ruled out with a hamstring injury. There was a good covering of grass on the pitch but batting conditions were expected to be good with a light westerly wind blowing across the ground, which tends to negate swing and flatten out the pitch. Teams: South Africa: Graeme Smith (capt), Alviro Petersen, Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers (wkt), Faf du Plessis, Dean Elgar, Robin Peterson, Dale Steyn, Rory Kleinveldt, Morne Morkel, New Zealand: Brendon McCullum (capt), Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, Dean Brownlie, Daniel Flynn, BJ Watling (wkt), Colin Munro, Doug Bracewell, Neil Wagner, Trent Boult, Jeetan Patel. Umpires: Ian Gould (ENG), Kumar Dharmasena (SRI). TV umpire: Rod Tucker (AUS). Match referee: David Boon (AUS). From : AFP
