AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has given Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) the thumbs up over their choice of new manager in Carlo Ancelotti and suggests his old Rossoneri coach will do well in France — provided he's given time to settle in. Speaking at a press conference yesterday to announce details of AC Milan's friendly against PSG at Al Ahli's Rashid Stadium tomorrow from 7.30pm, Seedorf said of his old Milan coach: "I think that with Ancelotti there's a guarantee with any team he coaches. "He's proved his worth over the years. I just hope they receive him well. I know there was a dilemma at PSG with them sitting first in France's Ligue One and still sacking their coach [Antoine Kombouare]. But I just hope he doesn't suffer that, because if he has the time I think he will do great there." Seedorf's Milan team-mate Mark Van Bommel added: "It's not for us to discuss the situation at PSG and why they sacked their coach while top of the league. I can only say that, from a distance, Ancelotti seems like a good choice in manager." The 52-year-old former Regianna, Parma, Juventus, AC Milan and Chelsea coach faces his old club — with PSG this week — for the first time since ending an eight-year stint at the San Siro in 2009. Upon learning of Ancelotti's Paris signing, AC Milan tweeted a mixed message of congratulations, in the same breath as apologising for the fact his first game would end in defeat against the Italian giants. No confrontation Current AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri said of his predecessor: "This won't be a confrontation between two managers but a chance for two teams to prepare for the rest of the season." By televised link-up to PSG's camp in Doha, Qatar, Ancelotti said: "For me it will be an important opportunity to understand the quality of the players and know them better. It will be a little bit strange to face my old club in my first game in charge. But I will be excited. "Of course I have very good memories of my time at Milan and I still know a lot of people there. Playing against them will be a very good game." In his time at Milan, Ancelotti won Champions League titles in 2003 and 2007, one SuperCoppa Italiana in 2004, the 2003 Coppa Italia and Serie A in 2004. He also won the Fifa Club World Cup in 2007 and two Uefa Super Cups in 2003 and 2007. He resigned to join Chelsea, where he lasted two years, winning the FA Cup and English Premier League title in 2010.
