Scotland flanker Ryan Wilson will miss the Six Nations but could still feature at the World Cup despite being banned for three months by the Scottish Rugby Union on Wednesday following his conviction for assault.
Glasgow back-rower Wilson's sanction came after he was convicted last week of assaulting two men -- players from Glasgow Hawks rugby team -- on a night out in October 2013.
The 25-year-old has been suspended without pay for three months and banned from Scottish duty until August 23, which would clear him to take part in the build-up to the World Cup in September and October.
Wilson had been left out of Scotland's preparatory squad ahead of the Six Nations -- which begins this weekend as the Scots travel to Paris to take on France -- while awaiting the outcome of the case against him.
His Glasgow team-mate and international prop Ryan Grant was welcomed back into the Scotland squad on Sunday after he was cleared of assault in the same affair.
