The events of the 15th Qatar National Purebred Arabian Horse Show organized by the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (REC) kicked off Friday. Pony named “Zeinat Al Shaqab” came first in the first category of the show, dedicated to one-year old female ponies, followed by “Najlaa Al Nasser” and “Kahla Al Shaqab.” In the second category, dedicated to one-year old male ponies, “Ghaleb Al Shaqab” won first place followed by “Kanz Al Nasser” and “Bariq Al Shaqab” in second and third place respectively. Head of the REC Head of Media section said in a statement released on REC’s website Thursday that the 2012 edition of the show “will be held at a time that will suit horse owners and that’s why the level of participation is expected to outmatch the previous editions. In addition, given its classes, the show promises to produce top competitions”. Day 2 of the events will be held from 09:00 am to 12:30 pm and then will be resumed at 03:30 pm. The winners will be awarded by REC officials led by HE REC Chairman Sheikh Mohammed Bin Faleh Al-Thani following each class respectively, REC said on its website. HE Sheikh Mohammed Bin Faleh Al-Thani said that organizing the show was good preparation for the international race day that will be held next year. His Excellency also praised the 15th Qatar National Purebred Arabian Horse Show and said that there were a lot of participation from neighboring countries.
