NHL champions Kings celebrate with parade

Thousands of Los Angeles Kings fans rallied in downtown LA on Thursday as the club celebrated its improbable run to the first National Hockey League championship in the franchise’s history. The team, which defeated the New Jersey Devils to take the series four games to two, rode in double-decker buses down the parade route lined with cheering crowds to a victory rally at the Staples Centre. “Thanks a lot for all the support, we love you guys,” Kings defenseman Matt Greene told the crowd, adding: “We couldn’t have done it without you. This is awesome. This is the best day of my life.” Kings captain Dustin Brown grabbed the microphone, and then lifted the Stanley Cup over his head, drawing huge cheers.
