Philip Rivers hurled two touchdown passes and Michael Spurlock scored on a 63-yard punt return Sunday in San Diego's 27-17 victory over the New York Jets. Rivers went 11-of-22 through the air for 165 yards for the Chargers (6-9), who won for the second time in three games. Greg McElroy started behind center for the Jets (6-9) in place of the benched Mark Sanchez and responded by completing 14-of-24 for 185 yards with an interception and a fumble lost in his first NFL start. Shonn Greene was limited to 38 rushing yards on 14 carries as New York dropped its second straight.
