A layup by David Lee with 31 seconds to play Wednesday put Golden State in front and the Warriors held on to edge Atlanta 85-82. Golden State won on the road for the fifth time this season and improved to 2-1 on its current six-game journey. A tip-in by Josh Smith brought the Hawks within two with 11 seconds to go, but Monta Ellis then hit a pair of foul shots with 10 seconds left that all but clinched the game. Ellis led the Warriors with 24 points and Lee scored 22 points to go with 12 rebounds. Atlanta's Joe Johnson returned after missing two games with tendinitis in his left knee and scored 18 points. The Hawks have lost six out of eight.
