World No. 2 Rafael Nadal won eight of the opening games Tuesday and beat Marcel Granollers 6-1, 6-4 in the third round of the BNP Paribas Open in California. Nadal advances to face 21st-seeded Alexandr Dolgopolov of Ukraine. Dolgopolov advanced by winning a 2 hour, 20-minute, marathon against Marcos Baghdatis 6-4, 5-7, 6-4. Also moving on was third-seeded Roger Federer of Switzerland, who battled 27th-seeded Canadian Milos Raonic to a 6-7 (2-7), 6-3, 6-2. Dennis Istomin of Uzbekistan upset No. 5 seed David Ferrer 6-4, 6-3.
