Azahara Munoz emerged from a contentious semifinal victory Sunday to defeat Candie Kung 2 & 1 in the final of the Sybase Match Play Championship. Munoz heated up starting at No. 9 in the championship match, winning three of the next four holes to take control. She claimed the her first LPGA Tour victory after both players parred the 17th. Her 2 & 1 triumph over Morgan Pressel in Sunday's earlier semifinal match was a controversial one. Pressel lost the 13th hole when she was penalized for taking too much time after being warned for slow play. She later complained Munoz had grounded her putter in her putting line on the 15th green, but was denied the claim after an official review. Kung had reached the final by defeating Vicky Hurst 2 & 1 earlier in the day. Pressel beat Hurst 2 & 1 in the consolation match.
