Jemile Weeks' sacrifice fly allowed Brandon Inge to score the winning run in the 15th inning early Tuesday, giving Oakland a 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Inge led off the 15th with a single and took second on a sacrifice. Rays pitcher Kyle Farnsworth (0-3) intentionally walked Seth Smith and unintentionally walked Eric Sogard to load the bases. Weeks lifted Farnsworth's next pitch to medium right-center and Inge was able to beat the throw from B.J. Upton and end the game after 5 hours, 9 minutes. It also gave the A's a 19-4 record in July. Jordan Norberto (3-1), the sixth Oakland pitcher, got the win after A's pitching didn't allow Tampa Bay a run after the sixth inning. The bullpen allowed three hits and three walks while striking out six over eight innings. Oakland starter A.J. Griffin gave up five hits and three runs in seven innings. He walked two and struck out six. The seven Rays relievers used in the game gave up a combined five hits and eight walks. They struck out 10. Starter David Price struck out 11 and gave up five hits in seven innings. The 21 strike outs marked a Tampa Bay record The last hit Price gave up was a home run by Brandon Hicks that tied the score 3-3 in the seventh. He allowed three hits, including run-scoring doubles by Chris Carter and Kurt Suzuki in the second as Oakland took a 2-0 lead. Carter's double snapped a Tampa Bay record-tying string of 24 innings without giving up a run. The Rays got on the board with a two-run home run from Carlos Pena, who had 14 homers this year, in the fourth and took a 3-2 lead in the fifth when Matt Joyce connected for his 12th home run of the season.
