Controversial guard Delonte West was waived by the Dallas Mavericks Monday following two suspensions handed out during the pre-season. West, a 2004 first-round pick by the Boston Celtics, was released by Dallas after twice being disciplined for conduct detrimental to the team. The eight-year veteran's most recent suspension came Oct. 25. West re-signed with the team this past offseason after averaging 9.6 points, 3.2 assists and 2.3 rebounds through 44 games in 2011-12 -- his first campaign with the Mavericks. Over his 432-game career with the Celtics, Seattle SuperSonics, Cleveland Cavaliers and Mavericks, West has averaged 9.7 points, 3.6 assists and 2.9 rebounds.
