Luke Donald, the No. 3-ranked golfer in the world, is skipping a tournament in Florida next week when one of his children is to undergo a medical procedure. The family medical issue will keep him from defending his title at the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic Championship. The nature of the medical procedure wasn't disclosed. Donald, a former world No. 1, birdied the first six holes of the back nine in the final round last year to rally and win the Children's Miracle Network title. He went on to become the first player to win both the PGA Tour money title and the European Tour Order of Merit in the same season.
